GOT THE FIRST ONE UNDER OUR BELT!

16.11.2010 (1:54 pm) – Filed under: News

The first XENOVISION LIVE web chat was last night, and all of us here at XENOVISION were thrilled by the results. So happy to see so many of our family, friends and fans tune in to hear our TEAM XENO CEO Paul Hartmann talk about all things XENO and Phil Hartman. Tony Turino, XENO Wizard and Chief Technology Officer was at the helm of the show, moderating and throwing in examples of Phil art and comedy, while Angel Rosenthal, XENO COO was behind the scenes, typing furiously to Paul and chat fans.
Paul’s first guest was Grant Nicholson of Nicholson Design in Owen Sound, Ontario. Grant is a great friend of XENO, and he collaborated with Paul on designing the first annual Phil Hartman Arts and Humanitarian Award, given to Joan Chandler of Sheatre on Phil’s birthday this year in the Hartmann home town of Brantford, Ontario. Paul and Grant discussed the design process, and the artistic sensibility shared by Grant and Phil. Up next was Alex Stevens, the man who really started it all with the campaign to get Phil his stars on Canada’s Walk of Fame. Alex and Paul’s teaming up for the 2010 campaign really set things in motion for Paul to get involved with the rabid Phil fan base all around the world and especially on Facebook. Alex’s devotion to the cause of seeing Phil get his due is an inspiration to all of us. Paul then brought Angel in from behind the screen and talked about how they met up, with the touching story of Paul receiving the original Crosby Stills and Nash logo Phil had done when Paul and Phil worked together at Hartmann and Goodman in the 70’s. Angel had bought it on ebay years ago, and sent it to Paul on the anniversary of Phil’s death in 2010. Tony played some Poco, threw in a bit of Flat TV, and showed off Edgar Screwhead, and fielded the phone calls from fans.
We were all so gratified by the response to this first web cast that we immediately planned our next show – rather, shows. Tune back in Monday, November 22 for our next show, where Paul, Alex, TEAM XENO and special guests will be talking about the efforts to get our guiding spirit Phil Hartman his richly deserved stars on the Canada and Hollywood Walks of Fame in 2011.
Again, thanks to all that participated with us – it meant so much, and we hope to see you all back in coming weeks – bring along some friends!

Paul Hartmann at Owen Sound Cultural Awards

15.10.2010 (4:37 pm) – Filed under: News

Paul Hartmann and Rob McLean

David Sereda and Joan Chandler of Sheatre, Rob McLean

Our XENOVISION CEO/President Paul Hartmann channeled his brother Phil’s best Ed McMahon last night in introducing Rob McLean, emcee for the 2nd Annual Owen Sound Cultural Awards, held at the Roxy Theatre. McLean, the multitalented musician/writer/producer, is best known for his association with the Canadian Comedy Awards and Festival (to be hosted by Dave Foley this year), and his lighthearted look at Elvis impersonators (with creative partner Tim Progosh)  in the documentary, King for a Day.

Paul had the additional honor and pleasure of presenting the Creation Award for Theatre to Sheatre, the Owen Sound area award winning arts organization. Joan Chandler, Artistic Director of Sheatre, was the recipient of the 1st Annual Phil Hartman Arts and Humanitarian Award, presented in late September at the Brantford Comedy Festival.

Reality Imitates Art: Barack Obama, Phil Hartman, Bill Clinton and SNL

Barack Obama eats a sausage burger in Miami, asks reporters not to tell his wife:

When the last Democratic president took office, “Saturday Night Live”‘s Phil Hartman deliciously spoofed Bill Clinton’s visit to McDonald’s…..It’s hard to imagine a similar exchange didn’t occur between Obama and his people when he made a quick stop to get a bite of the Frita and down a Coke, particularly because the current first lady has chosen to champion fitness, claiming that good habits start at home and involve vegetables and cutting down on soda.
